Things to Do and Places to Eat in PCB and PC

**This page is under constant construction**

We are often asked what to do, and places to eat in the area. JoJo has lived here since 2008 and has experienced much of what the county can offer. JoJo’s wife, has lived here most of her life, so here’s what we know.

Things to do:
-
Mini Golf (“Putt Putt” as they say in the South) is prevalent in the area and they are all good! No complaints. Here’s where they are: Mini Golf/Putt Putt Locations
- Zoo World. Our family has an annual pass to this place, which never disappoints. There are emus, giraffes, monkeys, alligators, lions, tigers, flamingos, bears, amphibians, sloths, and a bird aviary. Here’s the PCB location: Zoo World
-
Ripley’s Believe it or Not!/WonderWorks. These 2 locations are competitors across the street from one another, but you can tackle them and make a day of it. VERY FAMILY-FRIENDLY FUN! PCB Location: Ripley's Believe it or Not / WonderWorks
- Arcades are never a disappointment in the area. None of them are better than the other in our opinion. PCB Locations: Arcades
-
Pier Park. Yeah, it’s cliché, but it has so much. Stores out the wazoo, top theater, haunted house, sky wheel, escape rooms, restaurants, bars, and even a jerky store! You should go. PCB Location: Pier Park
-
Kartona (Electric Go-Karting). Don’t be fooled about them being electric, they go pretty peppy like a Tesla. I went for my birthday, check out the footage! Tell them JoJo sent you!
Video below. Link: Kartona

- Todd Herendeen Theatre. This venue is the premier classic rock ‘n’ roll on this side of the Mason-Dixon line. Todd and his team perform many rock ‘n’ roll classics as well as gospel, and patriotic favorites. Link: Todd Herendeen Theatre: Little tidbit - Todd saw me in uniform at the music store and graciously bought me a guitar effects pedal without knowing who I was… I knew who he was though! So go check him out now!

Night Life

Karaoke
- Snyder T Entertainment (DJ STL). This guy right here is THE BEST karaoke DJ in the area, HANDS DOWN. I will not include anyone else. He cycles through different venues via his calendar bookings in places such as Sharky’s, Salty Hobo, or ShoreDogs, so just keep an eye on his schedule. His link is here: Snyder T Entertainment (DJ Services & Karaoke)

Club/Dancing
- LuLu’s Bar and Resto. LuLu’s is a restaurant with a bar that opens up into a dancing club at night. The food is of good quality, and the drinks are bound to keep you happy. LuLu’s has different themed nights such as Latino night, or R&B night, karaoke, comedy nights, and many more! They are located in Laketown Wharf. LuLu’s Facebook Page: Lulu's Bar & Resto

- No Name Lounge. “No Name’s” as we locals say, is right over the bridge into Panama City, located on the waterside, and has a deck attached. There’s a food service in the back which I heard is good, and the bar is quaint and very nautical! Some nights there is music and dancing, so make sure you follow their socials. Their Facebook page: No Name Lounge

- The Old Beach Bar. The OBB is a west-side beach bar that has been around for a while that is popular with locals and snowbirds, so why not tourists such as yourself? They will treat you well, and might even have a live band. True story, one of the backup drummers for AC/DC frequents here, Allan. If you meet him, he’s from Newcastle, UK (my soccer team), call him “Wor Allan”… It’s a local dialect term of endearment, he will love it. OBB Facebook page: The Old Beach Bar

Captain Dylan with a Redfish

Fishing Charters / Dolphin Tours
- Captains Jason & Dylan Shingler with Adrenaline on H2o.
Jason and his son Dylan are USCG-certified Captains who know the area's waters well and have years of experience. Not only do they provide fantastic fun fishing trips, but also dolphin tours or even shuttles to Shell Island! They provide local bay tours for Trout, Redfish, or Flounder, or maybe you would prefer further out in the Gulf fishing for Grouper, Snapper, Amberjack, King Mackerel, or Cobia.

Parks
- St. Andrews State Park. On the east side of PCB, a state park full of wildlife (deer, birds, and gators) and scenery. There’s a long beach, a pier, and even some jetties. There’s an entry fee, so don’t come empty handed. It’s not a lot. PCB Location: St. Andrews State Park
-
Conservation Park. On the west side of PCB, a park that requires no entry fee, and has forest, swamp (gators), and dirt trails for hiking/jogging/cycling. Bring your dog, enjoy the outdoors. This park does not have a beach. PCB Location: Conservation Park
-
Frank Brown Park. So your kids are bugging you to take them to a park, well good news! We have a HUGE state of the art park. It has softball fields, soccer fields, running tracks, a swimming park, and even small ponds to fish in. If you want to play some ball, this is where to go. PCB Location: Frank Brown Park

Our Favorite Places to Eat:
We have been here a long time. We like the holes-in-the-wall type of places, and although not every place mentioned is as such, we integrated some hidden gems. Take our suggestions as you may.

Seafood/Oysters/Local Fare
-
Dat Cajun Place (DCP). DCP has it all! Nor are they a hole in the wall. Oysters, seafood, steaks, cajun, pasta, shrimp/crawfish boils, and much more. Locally owned, and it’s one of our favorite places to eat. The owners moved here after Hurricane Katrina, and then got whacked with us by Hurricane Michael… Such resilient, and hard-working people! Book ahead and get on the waiting list via YELP as it is ALWAYS SLAMMED. Happy hour is from 4-7 pm. East PCB Location: Dat Cajun Place
- Hunt’s Oyster Bar. An extremely popular seafood joint loved by tourists and locals alike, BUT, it is very small, always busy with a long line, and is trying to fix that as we speak. Luke Bryan likes to eat here, you might see him. Hunts also has the world record shucker! PC Location: Hunt's Oyster Bar
-
Gene’s Oyster Bar. A local secret. Ok, 5 STARS ALL THE WAY, and they have been an oyster joint for over 100 YEARS! Off the beaten path, loved by locals, and a historical landmark! No alcohol is served, and they have strange hours (so check before you drive), but regardless, this is our FAVORITE seafood place. All kinds of seafood here. PC Location: Gene's Oyster Bar
-
Dee’s Hangout. Dee’s is pretty good seafood and has quite a bit of space. They are centrally located in PCB, and their tuna dip is pretty good! Give them a shot! PCB Location: Dee's Hangout
-
Dusty’s Oyster Bar. Dusty’s is a tourist favorite, but is not to be compared to the “Barracuda Bill’s” of the area. Oysters are amazing, the vibe is fun, and the aesthetic will keep you coming back! PCB Location: Dusty's
-
Salty Sue’s. A fine place to eat for those who do and don’t like seafood. They have smoked foods and great dishes! Make sure to call ahead and get in the queue. PCB Location: Salty Sue's

CRAB LEGS, LOBSTER ETC.
-
Crafty Crab. You will not feel hungry leaving here. You will get your fill of crab legs and other shellfish. If you like spicy food, then this is YOUR PLACE! I know, it’s a chain you likely have at home, but many of the local restaurants around here don’t serve local seafood, so if you want a lot of seafood that tastes good, this is it! Locals work here, so please tip them well. PC Location: Crafty Crab

Local Secrets
- History Class Brewing Company. This locally owned brew house serves great food, great brews, watermelon juice (for the non-drinkers), and “Bananama City Nanner Puddin”. It’s downtown Panama City (not PCB) and so here’s where you can pub crawl and mingle with the locals. Here is their website: History Class
- CopperTap Grill. Quality all-around food and drinks. My friend has previously had Michelin star scallops and he said the ones here were on par. My wife loves the chicken and waffles. Here’s their site: CopperTap Grille
- Fatty’s Sandwhich Shop. Fatty’s is a local secret. Across from the Navy base on Thomas drive, it’s easily accessible for all that good food to get in your belly! Sandwiches, pizza, and wraps… They have what you need (and your belly). I had a smoked cheddar pastrami sandwich and it was TASTYYYYY! Link: Fatty’s Sandwich Shop

Mexican (AUTHENTIC, not TexMex)
-
La Michoacana. This place is THE REAL DEAL. Real Mexican street food in a static location. Taco meat selections are Al Pastor/Adobada, Carnitas, Carne Asada (bistek), Lengua (tongue… and it’s tender), Pollo/Tinga (shredded chicken), Cabeza (pulled head meat, its rich, flavorful, and tender), Chorizo, and Milanesa (breaded steak). There are tortas and shrimp cocktails, and on the weekends there are posole and menudo soups, in case you were heavy on the drink the night before. Be sure to brush up on your Spanish as many staff members do not speak English, although ordering in English is fine (just don’t be difficult LOL). Don’t expect tableside guacamole and a fine selection of wines (sarcasm). PC Location: La Michoacana (Video: https://youtu.be/zCytETZ1oT8)
- Taqueria Guerrero. This is a food truck. Not as good as La Michoacana, but it’s close! The meat selection is similar, as are the prices. PC Location: Taqueria Guerrero
-
Maddie’s La Casita. Located in Downtown Panama City (not PCB), Maddies is (in our opinion) the most authentic Mexican restaurant that satisfies other people’s cravings for TexMex. JoJo really loves their mole! PC Location: Maddie's La Casita

TexMex
-
El Rodeo Tequila Bar & Grill. Although JoJo’s not a big TexMex fan, we know that a lot of you are. El Rodeo was pretty good when we ate there and the staff were friendly. East PCB Location: El Rodeo Tequila Bar & Grill

PIZZA
Since Pizza is loved by all, and pretty generic, unless it’s unique pizza, we won’t include commentary, but we love all that we have tried below.
-
Nick’s Slice of Brooklyn. One of our clients said that Nicks was “the best place we ate during our whole trip!”
They have a bakery vibe in here, with a great bar! Central PCB Location: Nick's Slice of Brooklyn
-
Mr. Maine’s Pizzeria. Central PCB Location: Mr Maine's Pizzeria
-
St. Andrews Slice House. PC Location: St. Andrews Slice House

Wings
-
Rosie’s Corner Pub (formerly “Joe’s Corner Pub”). This place has THE BEST wings in the area. It’s not really known to tourists and is frequented by locals. It’s a dive bar where people smoke inside, so order ahead for pickup if that’s not cool for you. They make their blue cheese dressing by hand every day and it’s SO CHUNKY and savory! It’s not too far over the bridge from PCB, so don’t worry too much, it’s worth it. PC Location: Our Corner Pub

Asian Cuisine
PCB is not blessed with very good Asian food (sorry owners). There’s two good Asian places in PCB, but if you HAVE to have your Asian fix, we will break it down and show you where to go into Panama City.
- Pho Pier 77 (Vietnamese cuisine). Located in Laguna Beach (West PCB), this is our favorite Asian joint in PCB. The pho is good, Bahn mi sandwiches are awesome, among other dishes, we have never had a bad one. PCB Location: Pho Pier 77 (Video: https://youtu.be/hiZaBgwD6-Y)
-
Shan Kishi (Japanese cuisine and sushi). The sushi here is very good. The “Yankee Roll” has miso on it, it’s my favorite! PCB Location: Shan Kishi
-
Korean Store on Cherry Street (Korean cuisine). Don’t let the name fool you, it’s a restaurant. You can get groceries too. The food is amazing! PC Location: Cherry Street Korean Restaurant
